Journel Joseph is Intellegi’s CEO and Founder. He is responsible for setting the overall direction, culture, vision and strategic priorities for the company. Journel is a multilingual data scientist as well as an entrepreneur, and book author, with more than 15 years of research and management experience in healthcare, threat intelligence, leadership development and education. He is a visionary, team builder, empathetic and pragmatic leader who draws inspiration from his worldview, multidisciplinary education, immigrant story, background and diverse experiences that contribute to shape his values and how he approaches his work. Journel is the author of Data & Analytics 4.0: The Future of Work, Privacy and Trust in the Age of Artificial Intelligence.

Journel has provided technical, data & analytics solutions to several federal contracting projects, including the U.S. Department of Education, the Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) & SAMHSA. He has worked as a Researcher at the New England Research Institutes (acquired by HealthCore), Tufts University, and The Executive Leadership Council (ELC).

Journel is also a cofounder of Pipeline with Purpose (PwP), Complement Maintenance and 1804 Academy. Journel has contributed to the multiyear study of “Board Diversity Census of Women & Minorities on Fortune 500 Boards” published by Deloitte and the Alliance for Board Diversity (ABD). He also served as an analytics advisor for CEOs.

Journel has experience designing and implementing software solutions, systems integration, data visualization – and building ML/AI models.

Journel is a graduate of the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University with a master’s degree in Economics, International Trade, International Affairs and Security Studies. In addition, he has a Master of Public Policy degree from the Department of Urban and Environmental Policy & Planning (UEP) at Tufts University. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Technology and Media from the University of Massachusetts. He holds a CAGS in Program Evaluation from Tufts University.
